CHENNAI: Customs officers at Tiruchirappalli International Airport thwarted various methods of gold smuggling.
Customs authorities successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 612 grams of 24-carat gold hidden inside a sanitary napkin last Friday at the Tiruchirappalli International Airport.
The seized gold, valued at approximately Rs 38 lakh, had been ingeniously concealed in paste form within the napkin.
