Alappuzha: The accused, in the case of stabbing a policeman, was found dead by hanging in Kayamkulam. The deceased, identified as Hashim Basheer, is a resident of Eruva. He was accused of stabbing Kayamkulam Civil Police Officer (CPO) Deepak in Idukki Chinnakanal.
The incident took place on August 28 in Chinnakanal, Idukki, when a police team came under attack while attempting to arrest a suspect involved in the abduction of a hotelier. As they tried to move the suspect into the police vehicle, another vehicle came there, and people in the vehicle attacked the police. The accused removed the key from the police vehicle and escaped. Four people were arrested by the police including Hashim.
