Thrissur: On the auspicious occasion of Guruvayur Ekadashi, an offering was made by Nathan Menon, hailing from Thiruvananthapuram, by presenting golden crowns to Ayyappan and Guruvayurappan. The dedication of these crowns took place on the second day of the Ekadashi lamp ceremony.
The presentation of these crowns took place right after the afternoon pooja. Melshanthi, Sreenath Namboodiri, the chief priest of Guruvayur Temple, received the crowns and placed them upon the idols. These crowns together weigh approximately 45 sovereigns and are decorated with aura stones. Guruvayurappan donned the red stone crown, while Ayyappan donned the blue stone crown.
