Pathanamthitta: Gopi, a lottery seller and a native of Pallam, Pathanamthitta, took his own life by setting himself on fire. Police have recovered his suicide note .The 42-year-old had reportedly been struggling with the incomplete construction of his house.
Gopi persistently visited the panchayat office several times in the hope of securing the funds pledged under the LIFE mission scheme to complete his house construction but, each attempts proved fruitless.
Gopi’s family revealed that his desire was to complete house construction before the Onam festival, but financial constraints hindered his progress, leading him to take a tragic step. Gopi’s wife was paralysed following a stroke.
