Ernakulam: In preparation for the establishment of the Periyar River Conservation Authority, the BJP Environment Cell conducted a Mangalarathi ceremony at the Periyar river base. The program was inaugurated by CM Joy, the State Convener of the Environment Cell, at Aluva Adwaita Ashram. The general meeting was inaugurated by BJP State Vice President KS Radhakrishanan.
As part of the initiative, a comprehensive project report with essential recommendations for river conservation will be presented to the Union Ministry of Water Resources and the Union Forest and Environment Department. The report was handed over to Ernakulam District President, KS Shaiju, for further action.
Under the theme ‘Periyar: the Lifeline of Kerala,’ several seminars were organized. The program, presided over by BJP Ernakulam District President KS Shaiju, witnessed the active participation of various BJP leaders.
