Hyderabad: In the run-up to the upcoming assembly elections, Income Tax officials conducted searches on Monday at the residences of relatives of Telangana Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy in Hyderabad. The officials focused on the residence of Pradeep, a close relative of the minister, located in an apartment in Gachibowli. Simultaneously, other properties belonging to Reddy’s relatives are also under investigation.

The ongoing raids extend to a well-known pharmaceutical company in Hyderabad, encompassing 15 different locations across the city. Not only is the residence of the pharma company’s owner being searched, but the offices of its staff are also undergoing scrutiny. Reports suggest that Kotla Narendra Reddy, previously associated with marketing at Dr. Reddy’s Lab, is connected to the pharmaceutical company in question.

Sabitha Indra Reddy presently serves as the Education Minister in the Telangana government. In the 2018 elections, she contested from Maheshwaram in Telangana, securing victory despite the TRS wave in the state. Subsequently, she joined KCR’s TRS (now BRS). Sabitha is once again a candidate from the Maheshwaram seat and is set to compete against Congress’s Kitchennagari Lakshma Reddy and the BJP’s Andela Sri Ramulu Yadav.
