Chennai: The Mahila Police Station in Chennai has directed Mansoor Ali Khan to appear for questioning after summoning him yesterday for making derogatory remarks about actress Trisha. The police had filed a case against the actor following his offensive comments, but Mansoor Ali Khan remains steadfast, insisting that he has not made any mistakes.

Mansoor Ali Khan said in a recent press conference that he will not apologise for his remarks. He explained that the remark was intended as a joke and emphasised that he would not succumb to current threats. Mansoor Ali Khan, who often acts with popular actresses, said he made the comment as a joke during an interview.

The National Commission for Women instructed the Director General of Police to take legal action against the actor. The commission criticised Mansoor Ali Khan’s remarks, stating that such comments trivialised violence against women. Actress and National Commission for Women member Khushbu Sundar strongly condemned Mansoor Ali Khan’s remark, assuring that the commission would take strong action against him.

The film industry rallied behind Trisha in the wake of the controversy. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj and a group of actresses were among the first to express their support for the actress. Notable personalities like actress Malavika and singer Chinmayi also joined in to support actress Trisha, using social media to convey their solidarity with Trisha.
