THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Police Chief issued a circular mandating ‘prior notices’ for questioning and testimony. The circular emphasizes providing full security to individuals summoned to the police station.
The circular also specifies that prior notice should be given before any arrest related to a case. Moreover, women, children, individuals above 65 years, and the physically challenged are not to be called to the Police station; instead, the investigation team will visit their location for questioning or gathering information.
It also highlights the necessity of the presence of lady police officers and other family members during questioning involving women or children.
The issuance of the circular amending the guidelines was based on a Supreme Court instruction.
