Ex- Athlete of Mar Athanasius College in Kothamangalam lost his life in tragic accident

Kollam: National medalist and ex-athlete, Omkar Nath (25), lost his life in a bike accident on the Punalur National Highway. The mishap occurred around 11:15 PM last . Omkar Nath, hailing from Kollam, had earned recognition as a star athlete during his time at Mar  Athanasius College in Kothamangalam. He held the position of Havildar at the Thiruvananthapuram SAP ( Special Armed Force) Camp.

The young athlete met with an accident when the bike he was riding was overspeeding and reportedly crashed into a tree. He and his friend, who was also on the bike during the incident, were swiftly transported to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. Despite prompt medical attention, Omkar succumbed to his injuries. Doctors at the hospital worked diligently to stabilise the injured duo. Unfortunately, Omkar Nath’s injuries proved fatal, and he couldn’t be saved.
