Thiruvananthapuram: Known as the son of a famous star couple, Kalidas Jayaram has become a beloved actor among Malayalee audiences. People still appreciate his performances in early movies like “Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal” and “Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum.”
In a nostalgic recount, Kalidas reminisced about his father’s mimicry skills, citing an incident where Jayaram imitated director Mani Ratnam.
He said that his father used to perform mimicry in both the workplace and at home. He even predicted that if Jayaram were to perform such acts on a larger platform, it would undoubtedly be a massive hit. His father shared the screen with him in “Putham Pudhu Kaalai,” directed by Sudha Kongara, a film where Kalidas experienced firsthand the charm of working with his father.
A standout moment Kalidas shared was during a scene in the film where Jayaram, portraying a character, receives a call and claims to be engaged in Yoga. Then, Jayaram decided to deliver the line in the distinct style of director Mani Ratnam. Before filming the scene, Jayaram informed Sudha about his intention to mimic Mani Ratnam, and Kalidas affirmed that the scene turned out to be a delightful and amusing experience.
