Thiruvananthapuram: The father of Dr. Ruwise, who is also an accused in the tragic suicide case of young Dr. Shahana, has reportedly been absconded, leaving his residence in Karunagappalli locked, as confirmed by the police.
Dr. Shahana’s mother’s revelation prompted the police to apprehend Ruwise’s father for questioning. The investigation revealed that Dr.Ruwise and his family withdrew from the marriage, even after fixing a wedding date, following alleged dowry demands. The police are now adding Dr. Ruwise’s father and other relatives as accused in the case.
Following Dr. Shahana’s mother’s claim of dowry pressure from Dr. Ruwise’s father, the police launched an investigation, including conducting searches at the residents of Dr. Ruwise’s relatives.
According to Dr. Shahna’s relatives, both Dr. Ruwise and his family demanded money. The investigation team is expanding its focus beyond Dr. Ruwais to include his father and other relatives in the ongoing inquiry.
Last Monday morning, Dr. Shahana sent a WhatsApp message to Dr. Ruwise, saying that she was planning to end her life. Subsequently, Dr. Ruwise blocked Dr. Shahna’s number without attempting to communicate with her. This action is believed to have exacerbated Dr. Shahana’s mental state, leading to her tragic death .
