Thiruvananthapuram: A Malayali MBBS student died in China. The deceased, identified as Rohini Nair (27), was a resident of Rohini Niwas in Pullentheri, Karakonam. She passed away while undergoing treatment for a fever. She was the only daughter of Gopalakrishnan Nair and V Vijayakumari, owners of Blue Star Textiles in Kannumamoodu.
Rohini, an MBBS student at Zhengzhou Medical University in China, had completed her studies and was awaiting her return home on the 12th. At that time, she had contracted a fever.
The family received the news of Rohini’s death on Wednesday morning, while she was undergoing treatment in China. The family is contacting authorities to facilitate the repatriation of Rohini’s body back to her homeland for the final rites.
