Thiruvananthapuram: Petrol stations in the state are expected to go for a midnight strike tomorrow (Sunday) to protest against the ongoing violence against their employees. The All Kerala Federation of Petroleum Traders has announced that all petrol pumps in the state will remain closed from 8 pm tomorrow (December 31) until 6 am the following morning (January 1).
The primary demand of the protesters is for strong legal action to be taken against the aggressors. The All Kerala Federation of Petroleum Traders stated that if the government fails to take appropriate action, the pumps will operate only until 10 pm starting from March.
Additionally, the organization emphasized that the government should enact legislation to protect the pumps in the state. According to the pump owners, people who regularly request petrol in bottles at night often cause trouble and engage in attacks.
