Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has revealed the details of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, sharing the temple’s design and features as part of the upcoming Prana Pratishta (consecration) ceremony scheduled for January 22.

Key Characteristics of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple:

1. Architectural Style: Designed in the traditional Nagar architectural style, prevalent in regions such as Malwa, Rajputana, and Kalinga.
2. Dimensions: length (east to west): 380 feet; width: 250 feet; height: 161 feet.
3. Structure: It is a three-story construction, with each floor having a height of 20 feet and featuring 392 pillars and 44 gates.
4. Sanctum: The main sanctum houses a child form of Lord Shri Ram (Shri Ram Lalla Sarkar), with the first floor featuring Shri Ram Darbar.
5. Mandapas (Pavilions): There are five pavilions, including Nritya (Dance) Mandap, Rang (Colour) Mandap, Sabha (Assembly) Mandap, Prarthna (Prayer) Mandap, and Kirtan (Devotional Song) Mandap.
6. Artistic Adornments: Pillars and walls are adorned with intricately carved statues of gods and goddesses.
7. Entry: Entry is from the east side, accessed by climbing 32 stairs from Singh Dwar.
8. Accessibility: Provisions for ramps and lifts catering to the disabled and elderly.
9. Parkota (Rectangular Wall): Surrounding the temple, it measures 732 metres in total length and 14 feet in width.
10. Adjacent Temples: Four temples dedicated to Lord Surya (Sun), Mother Bhagwati, Lord Ganesh, and Lord Shiva are at the park’s corners, with additional temples for Goddess Annapurna and Lord Hanuman.
11. Mythological Well: Sita Koop, a well from the mythological period, situated near the temple.
12. Proposed Temples: Future temples will be dedicated to revered figures like Maharishi Valmiki, Maharishi Vashishtha, Maharishi Vishwamitra, Maharishi Agastya, Nishad Raj, Mata Shabari, and Rishipatni Devi Ahilya.
13. Renovated Lord Shiva Temple: The ancient Lord Shiva temple on Navratna Kuber Tila in the southwestern part is now renovated, featuring a newly installed Jatayu statue.
14. Construction Materials: Iron is completely avoided in the construction of the temple, and there is no concrete on the ground.
15. Foundation: A 14-metre-thick roller-compacted concrete (RCC) foundation, resembling an artificial rock.
16. Protection Plinth: A 21-foot-high plinth made of granite to safeguard the temple from soil moisture.
17. Independent Facilities: A sewage treatment plant, a water treatment plant, a firefighting water system, and a power station within the temple complex to minimise external resource dependence.
18. Pilgrims Facility Centre (PFC): Under construction, with a capacity of 25,000 people, offering lockers, medical facilities, and amenities for pilgrims.
19. Sanitation and Amenities: There are bathroom facilities, toilets, wash basins, and open taps within the temple premises.
20. Environmental Focus: Constructed following Indian tradition and indigenous technology, emphasising environmental conservation, 70% of the total 70-acre area will remain green forever.
