New Delhi: Sources reveal that the National Eligibility-cum-Entry Test- Postgraduate (NEET PG) for the year 2024 is expected to take place in the first week of July. Subsequent counseling is anticipated to occur in the first week of August. Additionally, it has been confirmed that the National Exit Test (NExT) will not be conducted this year.
As per the recently-notified Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023, replacing the earlier Postgraduate Medical (Amendment) Regulations, 2018, the NEET-PG examination will persist until the proposed NExT becomes operational for postgraduate admission purposes.
NEET-PG serves as the eligibility-cum-ranking examination designated as the sole entrance test for admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019.
