New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday launched a two-day Swachchata Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) in Parliament House Estate. The Speaker, Union ministers and MPs participated in the drive today morning.
Ever since the Swachchata Abhiyaan was launched by PM Modi to coincide with the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Om Birla said that members of the Parliament are the representatives of 130 cr people of India in Parliament, the ‘temple of democracy’,and have an importantrole to spread the awareness.
The cleanliness drive in Parliament house Estate is being held on 13th and 14th July from 9-10.30 am. The estate is thus been divided into seven sectors and nodal offices have been designated to coordinate the work.
