Kozhikode: The University of Calicut has taken a significant step in line with the National Education Policy by approving a syllabus for four-year undergraduate courses. This decision was made during the University Academic Council meeting. Meanwhile, the University of Calicut stands as the first university in Kerala to recognise four-year undergraduate courses under NEP law.
This decision will take effect in the forthcoming academic year. The rules will apply to students enrolled at Calicut University starting next year. Teachers have already received training sessions to develop the new curriculum.
The university has also sanctioned the amendments for the Anusandhan National Research Foundation Act, 2023, which notably includes the provision to allocate research centers to self-supporting colleges.
