Thiruvananthapuram: The trend of re-releasing popular films in theatres is gaining momentum, with several movies slated for re-release this Valentine’s Day. Leading the pack is ‘Premam,’ which holds the distinction of being the first film ever re-released on Valentine’s Day. The film has already hit theatres in Tamil Nadu. Even after eight years, the film continues to draw large audiences in Tamil Nadu theatres.

Another eagerly awaited re-release is ‘Paruthiveeran,’ starring Karthi and Priyamani. Written and directed by Ameer, the film originally hit screens in February 2007 and enjoyed a remarkable 300-day run in Tamil Nadu. While the exact release date for the re-release of ‘Paruthiveeran’ has not been announced, anticipation among fans is high.

Additionally, ‘96,’ featuring Trisha and Vijay Sethupathi, is set to grace the screens once again this Valentine’s Day. Directed by C. Prem kumar, the film was a massive success upon its initial release in 2018, grossing Rs. 50 crores at the box office despite its modest budget of Rs. 18 crores. News of the re-release was announced by the crew members and Think Music company.

Adding to the lineup is ‘Sita Ramam,’ starring Dulquer Salmaan and Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. Released in 2022, the film will see a re-release exclusively in Telugu language in theatres on February 14. Rashmika Mandanna also features prominently in the film, with the announcement of its re-release made by the ‘Sita Ramam’ crew members.
