Thiruvananthapuram: Yashasvi Jaiswal has climbed two ranks closer to the top ten in the ICC Test rankings. He is currently occupying the 12th position, surpassing seasoned campaigner Rohit Sharma. Jaiswal’s ascent marks a remarkable improvement since the beginning of the series, where he was ranked 69th.

In Bharat’s five-wicket victory in the fourth Test, emerging wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel was named ‘Player of the Match’. Jurel’s impressive scores of 90 and 39 have propelled him 31 places up the rankings to the 69th position. Meanwhile, England’s opener Zak Crawley has entered the top 20 for the first time after posting scores of 42 and 60.

Meanwhile, Bharat’s premier batsman, Virat Kohli, maintains his presence in the top ten, currently holding the ninth position in the ICC Test rankings. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, who has been sidelined due to injury, sits at 14th in the rankings.

Former England captain Joe Root reclaimed his position in the top three. Root, who was previously a top-ranked batsman, showcased his prowess with an unbeaten 122 in the first inning against Bharat, elevating him two places to the third position.

At the top of the rankings, Kane Williamson continues to reign supreme, retaining his position as the world’s number one Test batsman, followed closely by Steven Smith in second place.
