Palakkad: A wild elephant has ventured into the residential area of Kanjikode, Palakkad, causing concerns among locals. The wild elephant, which reportedly came down from the forest, was spotted in the township of Instrumentation (a central public sector organisation), Kanjikode.
Locals spotted the wild elephant in the area, including near the staff’s quarters. The wild elephant reached the township around 6 p.m. yesterday.
Yesterday, a wild elephant entered a house in Athirappilly, Thrissur. The house, belonging to the Athirappilly Plantation Corporation Welfare Officer, was destroyed by the wild elephant. Fortunately, no one was inside the house at the time of the attack.
