Udupi : Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe offered prayers at Kollur Mookambika temple on Friday and participated in the Nava Chandika Yagna being held on the temple premises.
“He had darshan of Mookambika Devi and also participated in Navachandika Homa. Maha pooja and Sankalpa were also done on the occasion.He prayed to the Goddess to see more development in Sri Lanka and to remove any obstacles or political imbalance in that country,” said Dr Narasimha Adiga, chief priest.
Wickremesinghe, along with his wife was given a traditional welcome with Poornakumbha at the entrance of the temple. This was his second visit to the temple as he had participated in the Shata Chandi Yagna held on November 21,2017.
After finishing the rituals he sent some time at RNS guest house at Kollur. At around 3 pm, he left in a helicopter to Bekal helipad at Kasargod with his wife Maithri Wickremesinghe.
