New Delhi: The Border Security Force (BSF) reported on Friday that they had neutralised a Pakistani intruder attempting to breach into Indian territory in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar. The incident occurred in the Sundarpura area, ahead of the border fencing, around 12:30 am, as detected by BSF troops stationed at the border.

Despite repeated warnings, the intruder persisted in advancing, prompting BSF troops to open fire. In a statement, the BSF confirmed the neutralisation of the intruder, whose body is now being handed over to the police in accordance with legal procedures.

The BSF, established in response to the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965, stands as a pivotal defence force safeguarding Bharat’s borders and related matters. With active roles during wartime, BSF troops are entrusted with guarding the 3,323-km India-Pakistan border spanning across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, and the Union Territory of Ladakh.

Distinguished as the sole Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) specialising in land, water, and air security, BSF operates across diverse geographical terrains, ensuring the nation’s defence against external threats.
