Handwara: Two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were successfully recovered from the Wodhpura forest near National Highway 701 in Handwara during an early morning joint operation by the Indian Army and Handwara Police. Acting on a tip-off, the security forces swiftly and efficiently conducted the Search and Destruction Operation (SADO) in the area.

The police stated that the operation was well-coordinated, leading to the discovery of two sophisticated IEDs weighing approximately 5 and 7 kilograms, concealed within the jungle. Immediate security measures were put in place, and a Bomb Disposal team was called in to safely detonate the IEDs. No casualties or injuries were reported during the operation.

Following the successful recovery, security forces and police continued their thorough search of the area to ensure no more IEDs or militants were hiding in the vicinity. The prompt action taken by the joint team of security forces effectively averted a major incident in the region.

In a separate incident, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police initiated a search operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch sector after observing suspicious movement. The search operation, which began early Monday morning, was still ongoing at the time of reporting.
