Chennai: The sudden demise of actor Daniel Balaji has plunged fans and family into mourning. Known for his portrayal of iconic antagonist characters in numerous Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu films, actor Daniel Balaji breathed his last at a private hospital in Chennai on Friday. Now the reports reveal that Balaji’s final wish was to donate his eyes, and it was fulfilled by the doctors who attended him at a private hospital in Kottivakam, Chennai.
In 2021, the family of the late Telugu actor Puneeth Rajkumar also set an example of altruism by donating his eyes soon after he was declared dead. Daniel Balaji’s wish of donating his eyes sets a similar example of altruism. Daniel Balaji funeral is scheduled to take place this evening. Director Vetrimaran and Gautham Vasudev Menon paid their last respects by visiting Balaji’s residence yesterday.
Balaji’s journey in the entertainment world began with his role in the super hit Tamil serial ‘Chithi’, where he portrayed a character named Daniel. He ventured into films in 2002 with the Tamil romantic drama ‘April Maadhathil’. Throughout his career, he played remarkable roles in acclaimed films such as Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu’ Suriya’s ‘Kaakha Kaakha’, and Dhanush’s ‘ Vada Chennai’.
