FEUOK announces theatres to strike on June 7 and 8 against the OTT release of ‘2018’ movie

Kochin: According to media reports, The Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala has announced that the theatres will remain closed on June 7th and 8th against the decision to stream the film ‘2018’ on an OTT platform prior to 42 days in theatres. The members of FEUOK said that the makers of the movie violated the agreement that a movie will be released on an OTT platform only after 42 days in theatres. As the makers of the movie have overstepped the rule, it is said that the theatre association is planning to set up a new agreement that a movie should be released in OTT only after 90 days of its theatre screenings. The theatre owners have said that the ticket amounts will be refunded for the bookings done today and tomorrow.
