After two decades since the release of the blockbuster film ‘CID Moosa’, starring Dileep in the lead role, the makers have come together to announce a sequel to this highly successful Malayalam comedy. Putting an end to all speculations, director Johny Antony and Dileep have shared a special mash-up video of the film, confirming the much-awaited return of CID Moosa.

The original film boasted a stellar cast, including Jagathy Sreekumar, Cochin Haneefa, Indrans, Captain Raju, Oduvil Unnikrishnan, and Harisree Ashokan, among others. The news of a sequel has garnered immense excitement among Malayalis worldwide, evident from the overwhelming response on social media. However, some concerns have also been expressed regarding the casting for the sequel.

Directed by Johny Antony, ‘CID Moosa’ was initially released on July 4, 2003. The film’s script was penned by the duo Udaykrishna and Sibi K Thomas. Dileep and Bhavana Menon played the lead roles, while actors Ashish Vidyarthi, Murali, Jagathy Sreekumar, Harisree Asokan, Cochin Haneefa, Sharat Saxena, Captain Raju, Salim Kumar, Oduvil Unnikrishnan, Sukumari, Paravoor Bharathan, Subbalakshmi, Indrans, Bindu Panicker, Vijayaraghavan, Kunchan, and Abu Salim portrayed key characters in the film. ‘CID Moosa’ turned out to be a massive success at the box office and emerged as the second-highest-grossing film of 2003. Despite the passage of 20 years since its initial release, ‘CID Moosa’ continues to be immensely popular and enjoys a significant nostalgic appeal.

Meanwhile, Dileep has two upcoming releases titled ‘Voice of Sathyanathan’ and ‘Bandra.’
