The Vaccine War: Vivek Agnihotri’s next to clash against Prabhas’ Salaar; filmmaker shares a note on how violence is being glamorised

According to recent news reports, the box office is potentially heading towards another major clash in September. It is said that Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film, “The Vaccine War,” is all set to clash with Prashanth Neel’s directorial venture, “Salaar,” featuring Prabhas.

After the tremendous success of his film “The Kashmir Files,” director Vivek Agnihotri has gained recognition as a prominent figure in the filmmaking industry. Naturally, his next project, “The Vaccine War,” has been generating a lot of buzz since its announcement. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has revealed that the highly anticipated Agnihotri film is scheduled to hit theatres on September 28. If these reports hold true, “The Vaccine War” will face off against Prabhas’ “Salaar” at the box office.

Agnihotri’s “The Kashmir Files” and Prabhas’ “Radhe Shyam” were previously released on the same day. “The Kashmir Files” eventually triumphed, both critically and monetarily. “Radhe Shyam” was overshadowed in the Hindi film industry by the enormous success of “The Kashmir Files.”

Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter and expressed his thoughts in a thread, stating, “People aren’t born violent. Your children’s minds are conditioned by glamorising violence in popular literature, cinema and politics by industry leaders who should be actually inspiring young minds for peace. In such a violent world only solution is Creative Consciousness.”

He further addressed the issue of glamorising extreme violence, stating, “Now glamorising extreme violence in cinema is also considered talent. Promoting nonsense cinema is considered a bigger talent. Promoting a non-actor as the biggest star is considered the biggest talent. And assuming audience is super-dumb is mother of all talent.”

Agnihotri’s previous film, “The Kashmir Files,” was hailed as one of the best releases of 2022 and was praised for its authentic portrayal of Kashmir.
