Chennai: Just two days after its release, the much-anticipated movie “Jailer,” starring Rajinikanth, is creating ripples of excitement in theatres across the nation. The director of the film, Nelson, recently shared the elation he experienced when receiving feedback from some of the industry’s most respected figures.

Nelson revealed, “Mohanlal sir called me. He conveyed that the response from Kerala has been phenomenal, with an overwhelming number of calls pouring in. He described the theatre atmosphere as ‘wild mode,’ resonating with the audience’s enthusiasm.” The film’s distributors, too, reached out to Nelson, relaying the same sentiment of an exuberant audience response.

Shiva Rajkumar, another eminent figure in the film industry, also made contact with the director. Although Shiva  Rajkumar had not yet seen the film, he expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m unaware of what you’ve created with my character, but I’ve been inundated with calls praising the film’s greatness. I’m eager to watch it myself, and I plan to do so in Mysore today.”

Nelson reflected on the joy these interactions brought him, particularly when the legendary actors expressed their anticipation for more substantial roles in their future projects. “It’s truly heartwarming to hear that they’re looking forward to stepping into larger roles rather than being confined to smaller scenes,” he stated, highlighting the immense respect he holds for the legacy and stature of these icons.

The director emphasised the importance of preserving each artist’s unique legacy and value, emphasising that this is what resonates most with the audience. He acknowledged that the audience seeks entertainment that aligns with their expectations and that when a figure like Mohanlal makes an appearance on screen, the experience is nothing short of magical.

Nelson concluded by asserting that the essence of these conversations had been palpably felt in the theatres as well. The film’s careful attention to these crucial points has evidently translated into an electrifying cinematic experience for the audience, enhancing their engagement and delight.
