“Jailer” continues to shatter records, marking an extraordinary cinematic achievement. Directed by Nelson, the film graced theatres on August 10, and within the first two weeks, it amassed a staggering ₹600 crore in box office collections. Rajinikanth’s “Jailer” had already set the record for the highest first-week collection, raking in ₹75 crores on its opening day. With the film’s resounding success, the entire star cast received a grand and well-deserved reception.
Producer Sun Pictures is basking in the glory of the film’s monumental success. Kalanithi Maran, the owner of Sun Pictures, had previously honoured Rajinikanth and Nelson with cheques and luxury cars as tokens of appreciation. However, the film’s music, including its songs and background score, played a pivotal role in its success, prompting some to question whether music director Anirudh had been overlooked. This concern has now been addressed, as Anirudh Ravichander also received a prestigious award from Sun Pictures, quelling any doubts raised by critics.

Anirudh was presented with the opportunity to choose a luxury car, much like Rajinikanth and Nelson. Among the options were two BMW cars and one Porsche. Anirudh opted for a Porsche valued at ₹1.5 crore, while Nelson selected a Porsche MaCan S model worth ₹1.44 crore. Rajinikanth, on the other hand, was gifted a BMW X7 worth ₹1.24 crores, despite having the option to choose the more expensive BMW i7 priced at ₹1.95 crores.
In a parallel incident, Kamal Haasan, who also served as the film’s producer, extended gifts to director Lokesh Kanagaraj and guest star Suriya for their contributions to the success of his film “Vikram.” However, in that instance, Anirudh was overlooked by Haasan and did not get the recognition he deserved. Similar to Rajinikanth and Nelson, Sun Pictures recognised Anirudh’s vital role in the film’s success, presenting him with a generous check and a luxurious car, putting an end to any lingering criticisms.
