Thiruvananthapuram: Rebel star Prabhas’s latest film, ‘Salaar’, has claimed the top spot as the highest-grossing movie on its opening day. The movie successfully collected Rs. 178.7 crore worldwide on its release day, securing its dominance over other major releases.

Even with three releases from Shah Rukh Khan and ‘Leo’, starring actor ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay, ‘Salaar’ maintained its stronghold at the box office. According to reports, Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ garnered Rs. 75 crore on its opening day, while ‘Leo’ achieved an impressive Rs. 148.5 crore on its debut day on October 19.
The success of ‘Salaar’, in box office, is particularly notable, with 75% of its production costs returning from the southern fan base. The film’s triumph marks a comeback for actor Prabhas after the less successful ‘Radhe Shyam,’ and ‘Adipurush’.
