Thiruvananthapuram: Exciting news for fans of Rajinikanth, as the popular actor’s film ‘Jailer’ is reportedly in the works for a second installment. According to a report, Director Nelson Dilipkumar is already working on the script, unveiling an intriguing storyline centred on a retired jailer whose son is involved in investigating a smuggling case.

‘Jailer’ was a massive success, making it the sixth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023, particularly resonating with audiences in south Bharat. Reports suggest that the film’s key cast, including Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar, who played pivotal roles in Jailer, will reunite for this sequel. However, the nature of the film, whether it will be a prequel or sequel, is yet to be disclosed by the makers.

While Rajinikanth is currently committed to his upcoming projects alongside director Lokesh Kanagaraj and T.J. Gnanavel’s films, Nelson Dilipkumar is diligently working on the script for ‘Jailer’s’ second part. The film promises to maintain the successful formula that captivated audiences in the first part.
