Los Angeles: The entertainment industry mourns the loss of iconic American director and actor Carl Weathers, who passed away at the age of 76. The cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.
Born in New Orleans in 1948, he initially started his career as a football player at San Diego State University before venturing into acting.
After entering into film industry, Weathers gained widespread recognition for his roles in over 75 films and in numerous TV shows. He portrayed the memorable character of Apollo Creed in Sylvester Stallone’s acclaimed film series, Rocky. His cinematic journey included other notable works in the films Predator, Action Jackson, and Disney’s Star Wars. Beyond acting, he directed episodes of “The Mandalorian”, a Star Wars series, where he also played the recurring role of Greef Karga from 2019 to 2023.
