Thiruvananthapuram: ‘Manjummel Boys’ is the most talked-about film in the film world. The film has been well-received by audiences ever since its theatrical release. It became a significant topic of discussion due to its basis on a true story.

The actors spent almost a year with the actual Manjummel Boys during the filming of the movie. They interacted closely with them to understand the youths’ personalities and mannerisms. Chanthu Salim Kumar, one of the actors in film ‘ Manjummel Boys’, shares his experiences of shooting this film with the actual Manjummel Boys.

Chanthu Salim Kumar shares his experiences, highlighting the profound impact of interacting with the actual Manjummel Boys. He reveals that despite the passage of time, the mental challenges faced by the actual Manjummel Boys persist to this day. They have refrained from visiting Kodaikanal since the incident that happened in 2006.

Years later, they returned to Kodaikanal for the pooja ceremony of the film ‘Manjummel Boys’. Many were unaware that this was a real incident because this was not such a big incident at that time. Some may not understand the gravity of the incident. Even their friends initially doubted its authenticity. Their friends even question if this is how the real incident unfolded, and they remain skeptical even after the watching the film, which portrays the actual events, said Chanthu Salim Kumar.
