Mumbai: In a recent announcement, the makers revealed that renowned actor Mohanlal will be starring in “Vrushabha,” an upcoming pan-India bilingual film set to release in 2024. This project, a collaboration between Ekta Kapoor’s production banner and another prominent player in the industry, will be filmed in Telugu and Malayalam. The film is helmed by director Nanda Kishore and is scheduled to commence shooting later this month, as stated in Kapoor’s Instagram post.

Adding to the excitement, Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Bollywood actor Sanjay Kapoor, will be making her debut in South Indian cinema with “Vrushabha.” Her inclusion in the cast had been previously announced, and she is set to play a dynamic role in the film. “Vrushabha” is a period film with a storyline that spans both the past and the present. Shanaya’s character holds a pivotal position, acting as a bridge between these two time periods. Her role combines elements of glamour and performance, contributing to the movie’s high-octane action drama.

Reportedly, “Vrushabha” shares similarities with the Telugu superhit film “Magadheera,” directed by SS Rajamouli. The film revolves around themes of love and revenge, exploring whether love triumphs over revenge or vice versa. With its primarily Telugu and Malayalam production, “Vrushabha” aims to be a South Indian film with a pan-Indian release.

Joining Mohanlal and Shanaya Kapoor in the cast are Roshan Meka, Garuda Ram, Simran, and Srikanth. The music for the film will be composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while cinematography will be handled by Santhosh Thundyil, known for his work on movies like “Krissh” and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.” The art direction is undertaken by Mohan B Kere, and KM Prakash serves as the editor. “Vrushabha” is a collaborative production between Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, Connekkt Media, and AVS Studios.
