Kochi: Kerala Blasters FC showcased their attacking prowess and footballing finesse as they decimated Maharaja’s College with a resounding 8-0 victory in their first preseason friendly at the Panampally Nagar ground. The Indian Super League (ISL) side, playing in a 4-4-2 formation, demonstrated their formidable lineup and attacking prowess, leaving their opponents struggling to keep up.

The Blasters wasted no time in stamping their authority on the game, storming to a commanding 4-0 lead in the first half. The early goal blitz left Maharaja’s College defenders reeling, unable to contain the relentless waves of attacks launched by the ISL side.

Leading the charge for the Kerala Blasters were KP Rahul, Bidyasagar, and Bijoy, each of whom netted a brace, sending the crowd into frenzy with their clinical finishing. Adrain Luna and Dimitrios Diamantakos also made significant contributions to the goal tally, firing in a goal each to add to the visitors’ misery.

The first half witnessed a captivating display of football as the Blasters dominated possession and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities. Defender Hormipam Ruivah, who was handed the captain’s armband, led the team with conviction and marshalled the defence effectively to maintain a clean sheet.

As the match progressed, the Blasters’ coach opted to make several changes to the lineup, providing valuable game time to other squad members. Notable players such as Diamantakos, Luna, Leskovic, Jeakson, and fresh signing Pritam Kotal were given the chance to showcase their skills and build their match fitness.

With this dominant victory, Kerala Blasters FC have sent a strong message to their opponents ahead of the upcoming Durand Cup. The team’s attacking prowess and cohesive gameplay have signalled their intentions to make a significant impact in the prestigious tournament.
