Water bottles are an inevitable part of our day-to-day life. Thousands of water bottle models are available in the market that are made of glass, plastic and steel. Earlier, they were only available in solid colours but now they have become trendy. As using plastic bottles are harmful to the environment, people prefer reusable bottles.

Water bottles aren’t just H2O containers anymore. From happy prints, cool designs, to trending colours, these water bottles are stylish enough to double up as fashion accessories. It can be said that water bottles have become a fashion statement.  Many international brands have their own customized water bottles. You might be wondering about the cost of these bottles. They are way more expensive than the regular ones.

The world’s most expensive water bottle ‘The Acqua di Cristallo Tributo a Modigliani’ costs around Rs 50 lakh. It can hold up to 750 ml of water. Why is it so expensive then?

This bottle is made of 24-carat gold and the water inside the bottle also has around five grams of 24-carat gold which adds a hint of alkalinity to the water. Also, the water inside is also special as it is sourced from the purest places of the world such as the glaciers of Iceland, Fiji and France. It is reported that the bottle is used by billionaires in the world.

‘The Acqua di Cristallo Tributo a Modigliani’ is designed by renowned artist Fernando Altamarino. He is known for his classical designs. This prized possession was auctioned for over USD 60,000 (Rs 50 lakh) on 2010.
