Thrissur: Actor and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from the Thrissur Lok Sabha Constituency, Suresh Gopi, has made a statement over the ongoing investigation into the Karuvannur Bank scam. Suresh Gopi stated that if individuals do not appear for questioning despite receiving continuous notices from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) , the situation that happened in Delhi will happen in Kerala too.

Addressing the media during his election campaign, Suresh Gopi stated that those who have deposited money in Karuvannur Bank should get their money back. It should be made available to them, including interest.

Expressing his commitment to addressing issues of Karuvannur Bank scam, Suresh Gopi said that it the pathetic decline of the cooperative societies in Kerala that is being witnessed. He said that he intervened in the matter only for the people of Karuvannur. He added that if the money is not given back to the people who invested in the cooperative bank, he will fight to bring strong legislation for it in the next parliament session. He said that this will be his main purpose for going to parliament. He added that there is an economic fascism in this case, and it must be destroyed.
