Thiruvananthapuram: Criticising the conduct of exams via Facebook, a high-school teacher was reprimanded by the State Government. P Premachandran, a Malayalam teacher of Govt. Girls High School is set to be publicly reprimanded as per the orders of Director of General Education, K Jeevan Babu.
Premachandran is charged on the basis of instilling fear among the students and parents by criticising the conduct of exams, also trying to turn them against the State Government as well. He is also charged with violating the Kerala Government Servants’ Conduct Rules, 1960.
He had questioned about the addition of questions outside the focus area in the 2022 Higher Secondary exam and also on the conduct of exam. The Teacher’s Association were in support of this as well and later on the State Government changed its decision too. He has said that, criticisms of academic activities are not a crime.
