Ernakulam: Four Keralites survived with minor injuries from the tragic Odisha train accident that arrived in Kerala yesterday. Kiran (36), Bijeesh (33), Vyshakh (33) and Raghu (48) from Thrissur had met with the accident while returning from Kolkata.
They were part of an eight member team hailing from Thrissur that left for Kolkata as part of work to construct the roof of a temple there. While four of them returned one day earlier, the other four stayed back there for another day to tend to some final touches.
The next day, after completing the work, they boarded the Coromandel Express. After the accident, the four were admitted and treated at a medical college near Balasore.
Later, NORKA arranged the travel facilities for them to Cochin Airport. Friends and relatives, along with NORKA authorities from Ernakulam, received them. They thanked all the volunteers who helped them.
