Thrissur: Mayor MK Varghese informed that a squad has been formed under the leadership of health department officials to arrest those who urinate in a public place and fine them Rs 500.
This decision was made by the mayor without placing a new toilet booth in the public place. Toilet facilities are only available at Sakthan Thampuran Bus Stand, North Bus Stand, KSRCT Bus Stand, and Corporation precincts and none of them are hygiene-friendly.
Apart from this, there are no enough washroom facilities for those who reach the Swaraj Round, which is the main Centre of the city. The corporation is moving towards the new decision without providing enough washrooms for the people.
