New Delhi – The Indian ‘League of Legends’ team, set to represent the nation in the 19th Asian Games, has embarked on their journey to Macau, China, where they will face off against Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan in a series of matches to determine the seeding for the highly anticipated tournament in Hangzhou.
The team led by Captain Akshaj Shenoy, the proficient Indian team comprises talented athletes including Samarth Arnvid Trivedi, Mihir Ranjan, Aditya Selvaraj, Askash Shandilya, and Sanindhya Malik. On June 21, they will take on Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan, followed by a clash against Kyrgyzstan on June 22.
Esports, having been included as a demonstration title in 2018, will make its full-fledged debut as an official medal event at this year’s Asian Games. India is participating in four titles: League of Legends, FIFA Online 4, Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, and DOTA 2.
The Asian Games will now take place from September 23 to October 8, 2023. The seeding fixtures for the DOTA 2 team, led by captain Darshan, along with teammates Krish, Abhishekh, Ketan, and Shubham, will be conducted online on July 13. Meanwhile, Street Fighter V athletes Mayank Parajapati and Ayan Biswas will travel to Hangzhou, China, for their respective seeding fixtures from July 22 to 23.
The AESF will shortly announce the dates for the seeding matches for FIFA Online 4 competitors Charanjot Singh and Karman Singh Tikka.
