Paris: According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the acquisition of Milan Skriniar, who has signed a five-year contract with the club, extending until June 30, 2028. The Slovakian defender’s arrival has brought joy to the French capital as PSG strengthens its squad for the upcoming seasons.

Hailing from FK Ziar nad Hronom, his hometown club in Slovakia, the towering 6’4″ centre-back began his professional career at MSK Zilina in 2011. His talent and potential were quickly evident, as he played a key role in securing a league-and-cup double the following year. In 2013, Skriniar gained valuable experience on loan at FC ViOn Zlate Moravce.

In 2016, the promising Slovak international made his move to Italy, joining UC Sampdoria. During his time there, Skriniar established himself as a formidable presence at the back, making 36 appearances and setting a record as the youngest defender to play at least 35 games in Serie A.

After being named the league’s best defender in 2017, Skriniar’s reputation continued to soar. He made a high-profile switch to Inter Milan, where he made 246 appearances over five seasons, displaying his defensive prowess and contributing ten goals. During his time with the Nerazzurri, Skriniar added numerous trophies to his collection, including the 2020–21 Serie A title, the 2021–22 and 2022–23 Coppa Italia, as well as both the 2021 and 2022 Supercoppa Italiana.

Skriniar’s impressive performances also earned him international recognition. He made his debut for the Slovakia national team in 2016, just weeks before representing his country at the European Championship held in France. Despite his relatively young age of 28, Skriniar has already been capped 60 times for Slovakia, showcasing his maturity and skill on the international stage.

Expressing his excitement about joining Paris Saint-Germain, Skriniar said, “I am very happy to be part of this wonderful Club. PSG is one of the best clubs in the world, with world-class players and fantastic fans.” His arrival adds strength and depth to PSG’s defensive lineup as they continue to strive for success both domestically and in European competitions.
