THRISSUR: Nurses from all private hospitals in Thrissur district are in a strike today to express their strong protest against an alleged incident of physical assault on four nurses by the Managing Director of Nyle Hospital in Kunnamkulam.

The distressing event involved Lakshmi, a staff nurse from Nyle Hospital, who was reportedly kicked by the Managing Director and a doctor, while three other nurses present were also attacked.

The United Nurses Association (UNA) has announced that the strike will continue until Dr. Aloke V R, the MD of Nyle Hospital, is arrested in connection with the incident.

During the strike, nurses will only attend to emergency services, likely causing disruptions to the regular operation of private hospitals in the district.

In a shocking turn of events in Kerala, Dr. Aloke allegedly pushed and kicked some of the nurses, even targeting a pregnant nurse, during a discussion about salary matters, right in front of the district labor officer.

Following the incident, the three affected nurses were admitted to a government hospital for medical attention.

United Nurses Association National Secretary, M V Sudeep, was also present during the meeting where these disturbing events unfolded.
