New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tributes to freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on his 116th birth anniversary. The Prime Minister said that Bhagat Singh will forever remain a symbol of Bharat’s struggle for justice and freedom.

“Remembering Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary.  His sacrifice and unwavering dedication to the cause of Bharat’s freedom continue to inspire generations. A beacon of courage, he will forever be a symbol of India’s relentless fight for justice and liberty”, PM tweeted on X.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tributes to Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary. Amit Shah wrote on X that the the patriotism of the Indian revolutionary and his ideas would inspire service to the country across ages. Bhagat Singh brought the foreign rule to its knees with patriotism on the one hand. On the other hand, he used his ideas to unite the divided Bharat through the freedom struggle. Amit Shah remarked that Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice made Bharat stronger.

Bhagat Singh, executed by the British in 1931 at the age of 23, continues to be remembered for his courage, unwavering spirit of sacrifice in the face of impending death, and his idealism. This makes him one of the most revered icons of the Indian freedom movement.
