Kochi: The Kerala High Court has issued an order for an extended investigation into the tragic death of renowned violinist Balabhaskar. The court has also directed authorities to explore the possibility of any conspiracy surrounding the musician’s demise. This decision comes in response to a petition filed by Balabhaskar’s father, K.C. Unni. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been instructed to complete the investigation within three months.
The CBI had previously rejected the allegations of a conspiracy linked to Balabhaskar’s death, maintaining that the primary cause was the negligence of the vehicle’s driver. The CBI informed the High Court that their investigation had concluded that the accident leading to Balabhaskar’s death was primarily attributed to the carelessness of the driver, Arjun Narayanan, who was driving the vehicle too fast at the time of the incident. After this, Balabhaskar’s father approached the High Court.
The crime branch that initially investigated the case concluded that Balabhaskar’s death was accidental. Balabhaskar’s father, K.C. Unni, approached the High Court, seeking further investigation of the case. The government had considered K.C. Unni’s request for a CBI investigation and subsequently rejected the initial findings of the Crime Branch. The CBI’s final report affirmed the conclusions reached by the Crime Branch regarding the cause of Balabhaskar’s accident.
