Meerut:  In a tragic incident, atleast four people were killed, and five injured after two consecutive explosions rocked a soap factory in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The first massive explosion occurred in the factory on Tuesday morning, and reports indicate that some workers were trapped under the debris. The second blast transpired during debris removal, prompting the evacuation of the area.

The soap factory operated within a rented house in front of the Satyakaam School, situated within the police station’s jurisdiction. The operation was overseen by Alok Gupta and Gaurav Gupta, while Sanjay Gupta was the house’s owner.

A team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) swiftly arrived at the scene, along with a group that included the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and District Magistrate. A senior police officer attributed the accident to the explosion of a boiler containing certain chemicals. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure proper medical care for the injured.
