Kannur: A theft was reported at the house in Pariyaram, Kannur. A gang of four masked men forcibly tied an elderly woman and made off with 10 sovereigns of her gold. The masked gang robbed the house of Dr. Shakir in Ammanapara.
The theft happened yesterday night. At around 11 p.m., when Dr. Shakir and his wife were away, the thieves entered their residence by breaking through a window wire. Inside the house, their relative and two children were present. The thieves tied the elderly woman and covered her mouth with plaster. The children were upstairs at the time. The thieves had not only stolen gold from the house but also the gold ornaments of the elderly woman. The police have initiated an investigation into this incident.
