Thiruvananthapuram: Keraleeyam, the week-long celebration by the Kerala government commemorating the state’s formation day, is set to conclude today. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the closing ceremony at Central Stadium at 4 pm.

There will be traffic control in the city today due to the Keraleeyam conclusion. The City Police Commissioner has announced that traffic control measures will be in effect in the city starting from 3:30 pm. Those attending the closing ceremony are advised to make their way to the main venue, Central Stadium.

Only VIP vehicles, emergency vehicles, vehicles belonging to Keraleeyam organizers, and vehicles with authorized passes will be allowed to enter Central Stadium through designated routes, including Panavila, Housing Board – Press Club Road, Secretariat Azad Gate, and YMCA – Press Club Road. Parking facilities have been arranged for them on Panavila-Housing Board Road and within the Central Stadium area. Access to the stadium will be granted only after passing through security checks. Parking on main roads is strictly prohibited.

Additional parking facilities are available at various locations, including Public Office Ground, Sanskrit College Palayam, Govt. Model HSS Thykkad, Sri Swathi Thirunal College of Music, Manjalikkulam Ground, Thampanoor, Iranimuttom Government Homeo Hospital Ground, Poojappura Ground, BSNL Office, Kaimanam, and Girideepam Convention Centre Nalanchira.

The government organized the Keraleeyam program during a severe state financial crisis. There have been allegations that this is another example of government extravagance, as Keraleeyam reportedly cost more than 27 crore rupees.
