Kottayam: A suicide note belonging to Binu was discovered at the scene where he and his son were found dead. The note revealed that Binu had been facing harassment from employees of a private company, who were demanding repayment for the mobile phone he had purchased on loan. The pressure from the creditors allegedly drove Binu to end his own life.
The victims, identified as 48-year-old Binu and his nine-year-old son Srihari, natives of Nedumpoika, Meenadom, were found hanging in a house located 250 metres away from their residence. The police had informed that Binu committed suicide after killing his son.
