Bhopal: At least 13 people were killed, and 16 others sustained severe burn injuries when a bus caught fire after colliding with a dumper truck. The incident occurred on Wednesday midnight in Guna district, Madhya Pradesh. The charred bodies were recovered from the bus, and the injured were admitted to the district hospital.
SP Khatri, the Superintendent of Police in Guna, mentioned that there were 40 passengers on the bus. Many individuals jumped out of the bus windows to save themselves. The collision occurred on the Guna-Aaron road, involving vehicles traveling in opposite directions. People, including the Collector, immediately participated in the rescue operation.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh for the families of those who lost their lives in the accident. Additionally, Rs 50,000 will be provided immediately to the injured.
